I must stress that this is a Generic C172L POH - but it is a good starting point for reference - it was found online and there are many scans of basically the same document that I have found to be published online by other hobbyists and flight schools...

Flying Specifications

We've cobbled together some values that we think are accurate for the fling of DMP - please consider the following values with caution as these are extracted from previous documentation that came with the aircraft AND heavy scruitinisation of the maintenance records;

TOTAL FUEL CAPACITY; 79.5 L/TANK = 159 L.

TOTAL USEABLE FUEL- 72 L/TANK = 144 L

Planned Fuel Usage Rate 32 L/Hr @ 75% Cruise

Oil - 5 L minimum, 6L maximum

The above specs are what has been previously used by members at Maryborough Aeroclub - they seem to corroborrate values stated in most POHs available for C172L.

Weight And Balances

The Generic POH uses something akin to the Bravo loading system (albeit not explicitly stated);

The following data may be useful but use with caution;

Approx Empty Weight (ZFW) 1355.84 lb, Moment Index 51.4 lb.inch/1000 - unverified
- *nb a maintenance record from 10/3/1971(!!) had this written down as 1353 lb and 51.27 lb.inch/1000 - since then there has been an engine and propellor change; and some minor modifications, one does not expect there to be a great deal of difference - but we may look to getting this validated one day...

Useable Fuel at full 144L ( 38 Gal) => 228 lb, Moment 10.9 lb.inch/1000
Front seats (pilot + Passenger); Moment 12.6 lb.inch/1000
Rear passengers; Moment 24.8 lb.inch/1000
Baggage Moment 1.2 lb.inch/1000
- Baggage Allowance: 120 Pounds

MTOW 2300 lb

The following are extracts from the Generic POH - for your visual reference;

Logged Fuel Burn Data

Based on current data the average fuel consumption is 32-34L/Hr on Tacho Time.

Performance data for the O-320 pitches ~27 L/hr for 2500 rpm at 2500 ft.

While personal performance data and flying practices among users differ widely these data may be useful to keep this in mind for planning purposes.

Some users appear to be achieving 25-30 L/hr Tacho time with appropriate leaning.

If difficulties with the form please notify the Aircraft Manager

A standard flight report needs to be submitted to the Aircraft Manager upon return of DMP declaring the flying activities that took place during the period of hire;

- Keep a record for yourself and report the

- VDO OUT and VDO IN

- Tacho OUT and Tacho IN

- Air Switch OUT and Air Switch IN

- Please document the number of landings at designated ICAO (or private airstrip); e.g. YMYB → YBSU → YHBA → YMYB; x3 touch and go @ YBSU + x1 Missed Approach @ YHBA, Full stop @ YHBA -;

- as long as makes sense I don’t mind how you do this- Matt Cozier -

- Report any concerns or incidental notes; e.g. “oil down to 3 qts, topped up”, or “keys left in ignition”, or “door left unlocked” … or “fuel not topped up at start of hire”;

- Images are preferred to be uploaded for further referencing and problem-solving if errors in the record arise.

Please note that the flight report form DOES NOT replace the maintenance release!

Accessing the aircraft and equipment.

- Access the Number 4 hanger at YMYB by using a rolling-code padlock at the hangar door. The padlock will be one of several daisy-chained together.

- Access the cupboard at the back of the hangar with another rolling-code padlock.

- Keys to VH-DMP will be inside the cupboard, along with the accessories listed.

- Discuss with the aircraft owner the hangar and cupboard padlock codes as they will be updated regularly.

Aircraft Maintenance Records

All records for past/current logbooks, maintenance releases, STCs and recent work completed will be documented and kept in a common online shared directory (GoogleDocs). It is important that all users are assured of the safety record of VH-DMP.
